"See you later!" One last kiss on the helmet and off they go. Without turning around again, our children run to the ski school meeting point. They already know the way and the ski instructor from yesterday. The two of them will be in the best of hands today and will learn a lot again.
This gives us plenty of room to make big turns over the slopes at our own speed. My legs are tingling in anticipation of the first descent on our favourite slope and with the familiar clacking of the ski boots in the binding we start off. Glattjoch-, Niggenkopf-, Gulma- and Einhornbahn - we use all lifts both in Brand and Bürserberg several times, can't get enough. The feeling of gliding through snowy landscapes with boards under our feet is simply fulfilling.
But even the most athletic skier needs to recharge his batteries in between. For lunch we meet the children at the inn. Full of enthusiasm we learn how to make a pizza with the skis, i.e. ploughing, and who can use the lift alone. The joy of the children makes us adults smile happily. After the meal we all get back into the binding. There are still a good two hours to go, then we will take the last descent of the day, back down to the valley.
But we do not say goodbye to the mountain completely for today. After dinner we slip into our ski pants, gloves and helmets again. We go night sledding! We rent the toboggan directly at the valley station, then we float towards darkness with the village railway. How beautiful are the lights of Brand from the air! As soon as we get out we notice that at night the atmosphere on the mountain is completely different. It is calm. Somehow, as if with the missing light also everything unimportant is faded out.
We enjoy this special feeling for a moment before we sit down on the sled. Now it's time for action! At high speed we steer on the illuminated track into the valley. The laughter of the children sounds through the night as we whiz around the curves and joyful cheers also escape me. What fun!
Back at the accommodation we fall full of adrenalin in our beds. But the tiredness is not long after our eventful day - and the anticipation of the next experiences tomorrow accompanies us into the dream world.
