Travelling to Brandnertal

The Brandnertal with its villages Brand, Bürserberg and Bürs is located in the western part of Austria, on the border to Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Vorarlberg is a small country and is very easy to reach by car, plane, bus and train. The Brandnertal is located between Bludenz (or Bürs) and the Lünersee with the Schesaplana massiv. Conveniently located on the A14, the Brandnertal is easily accessible by all means of transport with exit no. 58.

Important Information about Arrival via the Arlberg

Due to renovation work, the Arlberg road tunnel is closed from 15/04 to 22/11/2024 and not passable during this period.

The following regulations apply during the Arlberg road tunnel closure

Due to renovation work, the Arlberg road tunnel is closed from 15/04/ until 22/11/2024. You can get to Vorarlberg via the Arlberg Pass road (B197/L197).

All cars, estate cars, motorhomes and lorries without trailers as well as cars and estate cars with trailers (including caravans) are free to use the Arlberg Pass Road as long as the trailer does not exceed 750 kilograms (maximum permissible weight).

However, cars and station wagons with trailers weighing more than 750 kilograms (hzG - maximum permissible gross weight) must use the long-distance diversions via Germany, the Fernpass or Switzerland on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 09:00 and 17:00 during the high season (01/07 to 06/10/2024).

ASFINAG recommends allowing for more time when using the Arlberg Pass. Especially on the weekends, delays are possible along the B 197/L 197 Arlberg Pass Road due to traffic overload.

You can find more information about this on the ASFINAG website at www.asfinag.at.
