Tuesday, 09:30: We have just boarded the cable car and are starting our upholl journey. Our two middle children, Dominik and Laura are already to answer some of the questions in the puzzle book. We reach the middle station and collect our little wagon before boarding the panorama cable car to the Burtschasattel.
Paul our smallest can’t believe how high we have come. Once we have arrived at the top we stop for a coffee whilst the children play on the adventure playground.
My husband and I sit back and enjoy the sunshine and then we make a start to the weather station. Time to answer more questions in the puzzle book.
The path is wide and well maintained and pulling the wagon is a short joint effort on the few metres that are uphill. The sun casts its shadow through the trees as we meander up and down the gentle slopes.
We learn how the water is naturally filtered, discover which stones are on the mountain and watch the hustle and bustle of an anthill. The children climb, crawl, run and balance along the way – this is no boring hike!
As the path clears the forest and leads to open alpine meadows, the sun is already shining high in the sky. Time for a picnic with a view. For dessert, there are blueberries that Carolin and Laura find between a few shrubs.
If you ask me what we liked best today, I couldn’t choose one thing. Paul, on the other hand, found the answer easy - playing in the mountain stream was his absolute highlight!
