Small historic towns have a maximum of 45,000 inhabitants and have a historic and cohesive townscape. They are embedded in special natural landscapes and have numerous listed sights, which can be seen and experienced by visitors on regular city tours. Handicraft businesses, which can be experienced up close, are just as much a point of attraction as a regular weekly market, a cultivated gastronomy and an individual shopping offer. Varied, high-quality events and an active cultural program round off the diversity of the Small Historic Towns.
