The Muttersberg as an outdoor art installation. Since summer 2018 the popular recreational area towering over Nüziders and Bludenz has a new artistic streak.
On a circuit, six well-known artists, including Alfred Graf and Marbod Fritsch, designed seven stations along the way. All participants have a personal connection to Vorarlberg and express their ties to the home in their use of regional materials. The resulting works are as diverse as the artists themselves and interpret their views on life in the mountains.
They sometimes rise opulently and are visible from afar, sometimes they are conspicuously placed on the wayside or rather insignificantly embedded in the structures of nature – interactive touching is allowed! Rediscover art in throughout the seasons and in all weathers. The Alpine Art Muttersberg trail provides art on an easy hike with an impressive outdoor backdrop.
The project Alpine Art Muttersberg is a new project in the Alpenregion Bludenz. It is the first themed trail of its kind and is intended to firmly position Bludenz, Nüziders and the entire Oberland on the cultural map of Vorarlberg.
Alpine Art Muttersberg was the brainchild of the Kerstin Biedermann-Smith of Alpenregion Bludenz Tourismus GmbH and the council of Nüziders. The association allerArt Bludenz took over the artistic direction and the acquisition of the involved artists.
The state of Vorarlberg and LEADER support the new thematic path and promote the project.
