Lucerne

The journey goes from Bludenz, Feldkirch via Sargans, the Walensee and Cham near Lucerne, picturesquely situated on Lake Lucerne. The oldest covered wooden bridge in the world (Kapellbrücke) with the water tower and the Spreubrücke that connect the old and new parts of the town.

The location between lake and mountains (Pilatus and Rigi) is considered to be particularly attractive and promoted the development of the city as a  favourite excursion destination early on. The magnificent façades of the houses in the old town still today attest to glittering times.
