Kommen - Gehen - Bleiben. Bludenz im Spiegel der Migrationsgeschichte
Lecture with Christof Thöny. Bludenz has been shaped by migration in many ways, both in its historical development and in its contemporary appearance. Until the 19th century, seasonal and permanent emigration played an important role. Over the last 150 years, numerous immigrants - from Trentino, South Tyrol, former Yugoslavia, Turkey and many other countries - have left their mark on the face of the town. Around a quarter of Bludenz's inhabitants were not born in Austria or do not have Austrian citizenship. They undoubtedly make the town more colourful, diverse and liveable. The stories of these migrants are the focus of the lecture.
