Exhibition: Martina Morger

Martina Morgan's multimedia works actively occupy spaces and use strategies of display and visualization to negotiate the effects of social constraints on our bodies. In this way, Martina creates queer drafts of a society whose central characteristics are hybridity and fluidity and thus assert themselves against the standardization efforts of our present. She repeatedly places a specific focus on the role of FLINTAQ+ and constructions of gender.

The artist was born in Vaduz in 1989, studied media art in Zurich, Vienna and Glasgow and lives and works in Hanover and Liechtenstein. Her artistic practice interweaves issues of power, desire and care in situational installations and site-specific performances. As co-curator of Perrrformat, she brings performance art into public space and is a member of several collectives and unions with which she campaigns for artists' rights and concerns. In 2020 Martina was a studio fellow at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and is the 2021 Manor Art Prize winner.
