Linda is fifteen and would love to walk in front of a car. But two people stop her: her only friend Kevin and Hubert, a retired pool attendant suffering from dementia. Linda spends the afternoons with him three times a week to relieve her carer, Ewa, who does her job in a rather unconventional way. Linda deals with Hubert's progressive dementia with sensitivity and humour, trying to keep the old lifeguard's memories alive. Until fate thwarts Linda's plans...
Petra Pellini, born in Bludenz, has been working with people with dementia for many years. In 2021 she was awarded the Vorarlberg Prize for Literature for an excerpt from 'Der Bademeister ohne Himmel'.
