The Großes Walsertal in Vorarlberg is a side valley of the Walgau. It extends from Walgau to the Bregenzerwald between the subgroups of the Bregenzerwaldgebirge (in the north) and Lechquellengebirge (in the south and east). The approximately 25 km long alpine valley - also characterized as a "raging ravine with many ravines" - is flowed through by the Lutz stream and offers its guests the most beautiful mountain landscapes for their summer and winter vacations. The communities of Großes Walsertal have joined together to form Großes Walsertal Biosphere Park, which is a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve.
The Arlberg road tunnel has been open to traffic again since 22.11.2024!
