The alpine region of Vorarlberg with the Brandnertal, the alpine town Bludenz, the Klostertal and the Biosphere Reserve Großes Walsertal is located in the heart of Vorarlberg and is easily accessible by all means of transport. We are looking forward to your visit!
Due to renovation work, the Arlberg road tunnel is closed from 15/04 to 22/11/2024 and not passable during this period.
Due to renovation work, the Arlberg road tunnel is not passable from 15/04 to 22/11/2024. It will then be possible to travel to Vorarlberg via the Arlbergpass road (B197/L197).
Cars, station wagons, camper vans and trucks without trailers as well as cars and station wagons with trailers (including caravans) are free to drive over the pass as long as the trailer does not weigh more than 750 kilograms (hzG - maximum permissible gross weight).
However, cars and station wagons with trailers weighing more than 750 kilograms (hzG - maximum permissible gross weight) must use the long-distance diversions via Germany, the Fernpass or Switzerland on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 09:00 and 17:00 during the high season (01/07 to 06/10/2024).
ASFINAG advises you to allow extra time for the journey over the Arlberg Pass. Especially on weekends, traffic congestion may cause delays on the B 197/L 197 Arlbergpass road.
You can find more information about this on the ASFINAG website at www.asfinag.at.
Due to the closure of the S 16 Arlberg Tunnel, road traffic will be diverted via the Arlberg Pass road. Due to the expected additional traffic volume during the peak travel season, there will be a ban on cycling on the B 197/L 197 from Langen railway station to the top of the pass in St. Christoph. This ban will only apply to uphill cyclists in the period from 15/04 to 22/11/2024.
For cyclists wishing to cross the Arlberg Pass from Vorarlberg, the "Bike-Taxi-Arlberg" is available during this period:
• Cyclists can book by telephone T +43 676 441 73 50 from 07:30 to 18:30 and are transported daily by taxi and bicycle trailer to the top of the pass.
• The order/reservation can be made in advance (e.g. today for June) or at short notice up to approx. 30 minutes before departure.
• The price is EUR 7,00 per person and bike; a total of 8 passengers with bikes can be transported per taxi.
Signposting will soon be installed at the Klösterle tourist office, at Langen railway station, in Stuben and at the Valfagehr service station.
